FAVOURITE EVENTS

Le Mans 24 Hours: This has to be the best motorsport event in the world from a spectators point of view. What could be better than a week in France in the summer, camping next to or inside the circuit, good food,cheap drinks and hours and hours of some of the best sportscars in the world. A superb atmosphere, both inside the circuit and on the campsites. Put aside a week in the middle of June and go and experience Le Mans. A ticket for the whole week, general admittance, only costs about 50 Euros and covers all the practice and qualifying sessions, including the practice sessions in May a month before the race (certain Grand Prix hosts could certainly learn something here, mentioning no names, Sil...stone). Wyedean Stage Rally: A classic season opener for the rally fan in the Forest of Dean. Traditionally held in the first part of February on these quick gravel tracks. Usually a great mix of cars from  ex-WRC cars, through clubmans’ cars - including superb Group IV Escorts etc and even Landrovers and Discoverys, which have to be seen to be believed. Drag Racing at Santa Pod: Lots of events at this strip in the Midlands. There are usually four big meetings each year on the Bank Holiday weekends. If you’ve never seen a top fuel dragster with over 6000bhp take off, get yourself up there and experience some of the best sights, sounds and smells in the motoracing world. Nothing beats the smell of nitro-methane. Make sure the weather forecast is good, because they don’t race with any damp on the track at all, and the slightest shower of rain can delay things for hours. (Useful links: www.santapod.com)
